Cork Convention Bureau

The Brief:

The Cork Convention Bureau is the official body with responsibility for MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conference & Events) tourism in the Cork Region. Although extremely successful in generating valuable business tourism for the Region, the Client felt that it’s website had become dated and did not incorporate the optimal suite of functions or visual impact to make it appealing to the modern professional user.

The Project:

UpDate Digital were engaged to address the issues identified by our Client, and undertook an extensive schedule of international best practice research, combined with a comprehensive assessment of end-user needs in terms of required content, and optimal UX (user experience).

Client participation is a critical factor in the creation of a successful website project, and in this instance we were fortunate to have a client which participated fully, allowing us to learn from their in-depth industry knowledge, and incorporate this institutional nuanced insight into the design and build.

The UpDate in-house team engaged with specialist UX designers, developers and local photographers to design and build a bespoke website which incorporated elements identified during end-user research as well as aspects from “best-in-class” business tourism websites globally.

Launched in September 2019, the corkconventionbureau.com website was launched to the industry and has received a consistently positive stream of feedback from industry professionals to our clients since then for its design, visual appeal and functional effectiveness.
